How to Make a Reservation

1. Fill out the adjoining form, submit the form and you will then be sent a contract. Complete the contract, secure the deposit and schedule a site visit. The site visit will be held in order to confirm that we can access the property with all needed equipment. At the time of the visit we will collect both the contract and the deposit as well as confirm that there is a level area to park the processing unit. Once this has happened we will confirm the reservation date(s) requested. Dates are NOT confirmed until the site visit has been completed and BOTH the contract and the deposit have been received.

2. Note that a deposit will be needed for each date reserved.

3. Your farm must be within the 45 mile radius from 5179 State Rd. 39, Mineral Point WI 53565

4. A state approved water sample from location in which processing will occur needs to be submitted 30 days prior to the processing date. If water sample is not submitted in time, processing date will not be held and deposit will not be refunded. 1 state approved water sample per year is required.

5. You must have a minimum of 240 birds to process in 1 day.

24 Hours Prior to and up to Processing

1. Remove feed 24 hours prior to processing, if crops are full a fee will incur for each bird, however do not restrict access to clean and fresh water.

2. If poultry is pasture raised, birds need to be removed from grass access 12 hours prior to processing.

3. All Poultry that will be processed needs to be crated in poultry transport crates with no more than 8 birds per crate. NO OVERCROWDING WILL BE ACCEPTED. The crates will be inspected by the inspector. The poultry MUST be kept in poultry crates. Doghouses, dog crates nor makeshift crates are allowed.

4. The filled crates must be placed in the pre-designated area where the processing will take place prior to DHPP’s arrival at your farm. This area will be determined at the time of the site visit. Crates can be rented and picked up from DHPP’s home location in Mineral Point, WI. They are available for rent at $5 each.

5, The full crop fee is $5 per bird.

Processing Day

1. DHPP’s mobile trailer will show up on farm by 7:30 and processing will occur by 8 am. A water hook up, and bathroom facilities must be available on-site for our use. if any of these 2 are not available DHPP will not have the ability to process and deposit will be forfeited .

2. Poultry will be received at the rear of the trailer. Restricted access will be in place around and inside the trailer, unless we are processing ducks and or geese in which case the producer will be required to supply 2 volunteers.

4, Finished product will be returned to producer as fresh product. The producer is responsible for supplying storage for product. DHPP will not have ice, boxes, or the ability to store product for producer.

5. A 7' x 14' refrigerated trailer can be rented at the rate of $200 per day to allow for additional refrigeration of product. This will include a supplied generator with the needed fuel to operate.
